30th ODOORO-EKITI COMMUNITY DAY CELEBRATED AMIDST POMP AND THRILLS

All roads led to Odooro-,Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State yesterday 5th of October 2024, when who is who in Nigeria gathered to celebrate the 30th annual Community Day of the fast development town amidst pomp and thrills.
The occasion equally witnessed fund raising,cultural display and payment of traditional homage to the traditional ruler of the Community Oba(Barr) Babatunde Adebayo Jemilehin by his traditional chiefs, women groups, market women, non indigenes, youths, clubs among others.
Oba(Barr) Babatunde Adebayo Jemilehin dressed in his full traditional rigelia was in a state of euphoria throughout the day.As he waved intermittently his traditional “Irukere” and exchanged pleasantries to all and sundry who came to witness the celebration.
The Hallmark of the occasion was the conferment of honourary chieftaincy title of ATOLUGBOYE on the former Managing Director/CEO FERMA,Engr.Nurudeen Abdurrahman Rafindadi who was physically present in the occasion with the array of very important dignatories from Alh. Umaru Yar’ Adua dynasty in Kastina State, friends and associates as well as FERMA representatives in and outside Ekiti State.
Speaking,one of the foremost Yoruba traditional rulers and the Oba of the serene Community,Oba(Dr) Babatunde Adebayo Jemilehin described Chief Nurudeen Abdurrahman as a detribalized Nigerian who has contributed immensely to the development of the society.
The traditional ruler stated that the essence of honouring Chief Nurudeen Abdurrahman was not to seek financial support for the growth of the ancient community only, but to foster continued good relationship.
The “Oluomo 1” of the community, Michael Olubusayo Oluwagbemi again donated whooping amount of money for the development of Odooro-Ekiti as well as usual gave Scholarship Awards to some indigent Students of the community.
Speaking to Today’s News Correspondent in Ekiti State, Chief Engr.Nurudeen Abdurrahman Rafindadi, the Atolugboye of Odooro-Ekiti , thanked and appreciated the monarch and the people of the community for finding him worthy to be so installed as a chief of the community as he later announced his support for the development of the town .
Among the dignatories present at the occasion are; Olomuo of Omuo Kingdom,His Royal Majesty Oba(Dr) Noah AdejuwonOmonigbehin,Eyesorun-Eyelua Iyabode Grace Aribisala,Speaker Ekiti State House (represented), Senator Yemi Adaramodu(represented),
Chairman Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State (represented), traditional rulers, community leaders,captains of industries,sons and daughters of the community homes and abroad,all came out to witness the occasion in large numbers.
