OBA ALADETOYINBO OGUNLADE ALADELUSI  PROMISES FULL SUPPORT AS HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS VACCINE PROGRAMME BEGINS IN AKURE SOUTH LGA OF ONDO STATE

The Cervical Cancer with Human Papilloma Vrius(HPV) Vaccine exercise will commence on Sunday 15th  of  in Akure  South Local Government Area of Ondo State Capital.

The vaccine that is meant to prevent  Cervical Cancer among female children of 9-14years, in the nearest future is free of charge.

While Schools,Mosques, Market Places,Palaces etc shall be visited during the vaccination  exercise with the aim of vaccinating  female  children to prevent Cancer of  the Cervix .The vaccine will also be available at the Primary and Secondary Health Care Facilities in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Speaking, during the stakeholders  programme/workshop held in Akure early today, the Deji of Akure Kingdom Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladeusi represented by the Olotin of Akure Chief Olumuyiwa Akinyemi stated that he will do everything possible to support  the vaccination exercise as well as inform the people of the community to bring their daughters (9+14 years) out for the vaccine  programme.

“If given permission by the government,we shall visit every part  of  Akure Kingdom to always pre- inform them and tell them about the benefits of the vaccination programme”,Chief Olumuyiwa Akinyemi pointed out.

He therefore called on the good people of Akure South LGA,to come out in large numbers to participate and support  Human Papilloma Virus Programme for the goodness of their female children from age 9-14 years.

The workshop was attended by various stakeholders from NOA,ZEO,EO,PFN,Market Women,Okada Riders,Chief Iman of Okeogba Akure and other interest group from Akure South LGA..

The convener of the workshop Dr. Ifedayo Josiah appreciated all the participants for coming and admonished them to help propagate the message to all the nooks and crannies of Akure South LGA so that greater result can be achieved.

Earlier,Mrs Giwa Folake (Cold Chain Officer) has enjoined the relevant stakeholders to preach against aparthy in the society stating that the vaccine is safe and effective,and will prevent against cervical cancer among female children in the nearest future .

” Our parents at home should bring out their female children under the age bracket of 9-14 years for the vaccination because apart from now, the vaccination will only be available for 9-year old female children.

Other stakeholders that spoke favourably in respect of the programme include;Mrs Okoro,Mrs Tolu Ogedengbe, Dr.Yusuf Olalere,Dr/Mrs Faley,e,Mrs Ademi Olajumoke etc 

In another development,Dr.Yusuf Olalere who represented the Muslim Community promised to relay and inform adequately all the Islamic adherents in the LGA with a view to participating in the immunization programme.He pleaded the Government to create additional LGAs in Akure South,so that the people can enjoy more dividends of democracy as well as accelerated development.
