BISHOP BEMOANS HIGH COST OF LIVING IN NIGERIA, SEEKS GOD’S INTERVENTION

The Senior Pastor Cornerstone  New Life Church, Nigeria, headquartered in Akure, the Ondo State Capital,Bishop Olukayode Michael  Adesua has condemned the high cost of living in Nigeria. He stated that the outrageous cost of goods and services in the country, have gone beyond the purchasing power of  ordinary Nigerians due to bad government policies, corruption and insensitivity of government to the plights of the masses. He made the disclosure while fielding questions from journalists in Akure on Sunday.

The Priest quipped that the sudden removal of petroleum subsidy by the Federal Government has caused untold hardship and unwarranted hunger in the country and he admonished the government to redress the situation.

“The inflation in the country is very sad to me personally,there is no integrity amongst our leaders and honesty is lost,we are looking for it, without finding it” he stated.

He lampooned the political office holders especially the political elites,irrespective  of political party they might belong to, for disappointing the masses and as at now  the people have resulted into praying for divine intervention from Almighty God, the Senior Pastor added.

The man of God enjoined all tiers of government across the Federation to do the needful and address the precarious security situation in the country adding that there cannot be much progress in any country of the world where insecurity persist.

Earlier,the Bishop has stated that September is a month of delivery especially to those who studied Theology adding that, some people do refer to September, October, November and December as ember months errorniously and due to wrong notion in their minds
.
But rather, he do refer the months to as Ber months where people do gather to celebrate, do house warming, purchase new furniture and vehicles, engage in marriages,chieftaincy installations,, final burial rites,etc.So, there is nothing sinister about the last months of the year but for the mere fact that human activities increases during the period.Therefore,september is a month of actualisation of what people have been praying for since January to God Almighty ,through faith.”It is a month of acceleration both physically and spiritually”,he voiced out. Some people usually associated the period with evil occurrence, which is not supposed to be so

He however,appealed to drivers and other road users, to shun excessive driving, alcoholism and dangerous overtaken as well as ensured that their vehicles are road worthy before embacking on any journey in order to avoid road wreckage during the end of the year.
