Barrister Samuel Akingboju, Assistant General Secretary of the Ikale World Congress has been honoured with Excellence in Diaspora Community Service and Philanthrophy award by Sunshine Standard Magazine.
The award was presented during the magazine’s annual Public Lecture and Awards Ceremony held on Sunday at the OSPDC Multipurpose Event Center,Ijapo Estate, Akure,Ondo State.
The event attracted government officials, academics, Captains’ of Industry and other prominent personalities from within and outside the state.
A highlight of the programme was a public lecture titled; Building the Ondo State of Tomorrow”, Innovation, Enterprise and Good Governance”.
The organizers said Akingboju was recognized for his contributions to Community development, humanitarian service and Diaspora engagement, particularly through his involvement in the Ikale World Congress in the United States.

They noted that his philanthropic efforts and commitment to supporting the elderly, vulnerable and less privileged members of society have earned respect within and beyond the Ikale Community.
Akingboju,who resides in the United States, was represented at the ceremony by Dr.Abiodun Aiyeku ,who received the award on his behalf.
No fewer than twenty individuals were honoured at the event for their contributions to the development of Ondo State and Society.
Among the awardees were Prof.Simidele Odimayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Heath; Prof,Adeola Adenikinju of the University of Ibadan;the Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic,Owo,Dr.Olorunwa Adegun; Dr.Akinloye Olorungbemi, Flounder MC-Sarah Global Limited, USA;and Olori Olajumoke Adeleye,the Olori Olubaka of Oka Kingdom.
The organizers said the awards were instituted to recognize individuals whose leadership, service and Philanthrophy continue to promote development and unity in Ondo State and among its Diaspora Community.
