ANNUAL ODUN IFA MEANT TO USHER-IN PEACE AND RAPID DEVELOPMENT OF AKURE KINGDOM SAYS CHIEF AKOMOLAFE FAMUWAGUN THE OSUE OF AKURE
The Osue of Akure Kingdom,Chief Akomolafe Famuwagun has disclosed that the annual Odun Ifa feast being celebrated by him is meant to offer peace and rapid development of Akure Kingdom
He made the disclosure while addressing the press at his palace as part of activities marking the Annual Odun Ifa festival,held in Akure penultimate week.
Chief Osue stated that the annual ifa festival is very significant as the celebration always usher in all other Akure traditional festivals.
He lauded the Deji of Akure Kingdom His Imperial Majesty Oba{Dr} Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Odundun (2) for his contributions to the art,culture and tradition of Akure Kingdom.
“Our great monarch has been of great assistance to us and our forefathers will continue to watch over and guide him and he will reign longer on the throne”,Osue declared.
Osue stated that it is normal to celebrate Odun ifa in the Yorubaland across the world as Christians celebrate Xmas and New Year and as the Islamic adherents celebrate Sallah.
“There is nothing fetish and no act of ritualism pertaining to the celebration of Odun Ifa”,he finally posited.
