ELECTION VICTORY; AIYEDATIWA PROMISES TO RUN INCLUSIVE AND PARTICIPATORY GOVERNMENT
Following the declaration of His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa by INEC as the winner of the Ondo State Governorship Election held on Saturday 16th November,2024,the governor-elect has promised to run and inclusive and participatory government, where everybody will has a voice and make their contribution to the development of Ondo State .He made the disclosure while addressing journalists after his declaration by Independent National Electoral Commission in Akure, the Ondo State Capital today.
The Governor who won in all the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State described his victory as triumph for democracy, unity and progress of Ondo State.In his words, ‘this is not just my victory but that of the good people of Ondo State, am deeply honored by the overwhelming support and the trust you placed in me to continue leading our great State”,the governor stated.
He promised to continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, foster economic growth, and ensure Ondo State remains a beacon of hope and prosperity for generations to come.
The Governor, accompanied by his deputy and running mate Dr.Olayide Adelami commended INEC for conducting credible election and acknowledged the professionalism of security agencies for maintaining peace throughout the process.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and support as well as the National Chairman of APC Alhaji Umar Ganduje and the National Campaign Council led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
Meanwhile,the governor has extended hand of fellowship to all the governorship candidates of the opposition parties to join hands with him in order to build an enviable Ondo State.
The governor garnered 366,781 votes to defeat is closiest rival in the governorship election Hon.Agboola Ajayi who polled 117,845 votes.
Also speaking on a telephone interview about the outcome of the election,the Aladeokun-Elect of Alade Idanre Otunba Ayo Akinnadeju congratulated His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy/running mate Dr.Olayide Adelami on their election victory
Otunba Ayo Akinnadeju who a a progressive to the core assured the governor that Idanre Kingdom will continue to support him all the time,and prayed for the Governor’s God guidance, good health and prosperity as he steers the ship of Ondo State.
