The Regent of Ifira-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government of Ondo State, Princess Folashade Oshin nee Olugboja has stated that she has been enjoying the cooperation of her chiefs and other subjects in the area of administering the serene community in the right direction,since she ascended the throne of her forefathers few years ago.
She made the disclosure while fielding questions from Journalists in the ancient community shortly after the annual Ijesu festival, that was celebrated amidst pomp and thrills recently.
“In the areas of adjudicating on cases that are not criminal in nature,my chiefs have collaborated very well with me to administer justice creditably especially if the cases are civil in nature.The dramatis are usually satisfied and pleased on which ever matters resolved in the palace”,the regent pointed out.
She lauded the indigenes of the community home and Diaspora for their various participation in the development of Ifira-Akoko and enjoined them never to relent on their oars.
She was full of appreciation to the Ondo State Government and World Bank for embacking of the construction of Modern Market with the state of the art facilities in the community,explaining that, the market will boost the economy of the area.
She added that Ifira-Akoko now has functioning Police Station to cater for the security of the people while other social amenities are gradually springing up especially the road that is being constructed linking Afo and Ifira-Akoko communities together.
The delectable regent averred that the Iyalajes,Iyalojas and Babalajes in the community have been very cooperative enough in the area of selling of their goods and services at lesser prices to the residents, without minding the inflation in the country.
The highly cerebral and educationist per excellent regent appealed to the authority concerned and all tiers of government to empower the artisans with grants or soft loans and give employment to the youth because an idle hand is devil ‘s workshop,she quipped.
