Ilotin Community off Ijoka Road, Sunday Bus stop area of Akure Kingdom may be washed away by flood as a result of the deplorable road conditions of area that includes Ilotin 1 and Ilotin 2.
Speaking to newsmen in the area, some of the landlords and community leaders begged the Governor of Ondo State,His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to urgently come to the aid of the community by fixing an access bridge and constructing an asphalt overlay, on the road of the community with a view to allowing them enjoy dividends of democracy.
According to them,the community has no public school, electricity, police station and other social utilities that are deficient in the area comprising Ilotin 1 and Ilotin 2.
One of the community landlords simply identified as Ogundowole Joseph stated that the torrential rain that fell in the area a few days ago, nearly swept away residents of the community.
He pointed out that Landlords of the community, have made several efforts and contributed whooping amount of money severaly to buy sand,gravel, cement, blocks,iron rods to repair the road and the collapsing bridge, adding that the present conditions of the road cum bridge has become worrisome and death traps if not urgently attended to by the State Government.
Mrs Oseni lamented the lack of Government presence in the area, despite the fact that during the election,they came out en masse to vote in support of the current Governor,His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
She therefore appealed to the Ondo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to come to the rescue of the people living at Ilotin in Akure South Local Government Area,by re-constructing the road and fix the only access bridge that link the Community with Akure and Oda town.
The Chairman Landlord Association of Ilotin, Erelesusi Sunday emphasized that despite their various communication to the Ministry of Works and visitation by the Landlord Association,the Ministry of Works declined to do anything up till now.
All efforts made by our correspondent to get the view Ondo State Ministry of Works yielded no result as the Commissioner for Works declined to pickup his calls nor responded to the text messages sent to him.
