The Ondo State Commissioner of Police CP Adebowale Lawal has made a giant leap in the area of protection of life and property of the good people of Ondo State since he assumed duty,few weeks ago in the Sunshine State.
There is no iota of doubt about this development.
His pro-activeness on all matters relating to the security and peaceful coexistence of the indigenes and non indigenes residence in Ondo State can therefore not be underestimated.
Without wasting any element of time,he jumped into action as soon as he took over by re-strategizing and re-directing the precarious security situation of the State.
The positive outcome of the Commissioner’s rejuvenation of the security architecture in Ondo State, when he assumed duty is what we are now witnessing today.
One thing that distinguished him among his pares across Nigeria is his ability to network.He is a very practical C P.
He believes very strongly to synergizing with other security agencies in the State,this has enhanced his performances for the past few weeks,the workaholic CP took over.
His arrival in Ondo State has sent “cold feet ” to all harbingers of violence, armed and unarmed robbers,
the dread cultists, house breakers,skepthomaniacs, street urchins,the vagrants, hoodlums, killer herdsmen who are gradually relocating from Ondo State or forming cyst around themselves.
The Commissioner of Police must be commended for keeping and maintaining his Tactical Teams,DPOs across the State and for strengthing the intelligence units in line with the Inspector General of Police ardent policy.
Though, there are still alot to be done,it not yet Uhuru, but much has been done by the workaholic CP since his arrival in Ondo State.
Let me theirfore use this forum to recognize the efforts of all ranks and files of the Police in Ondo State for working vehemently with a view to ensuring that Ondo State is placid.
The Commissioner of Police is not a spirit,and therefore cannot be in all the nooks and crannies of Ondo State at the same time without the efforts of other officers.
One thing is to give directive and the other thing is to obey with dispatch without malingering.Kudos to all the officers and men serving in the State presently.
Though,the CP is always on duty,one wonders how he takes time to rest, while 98 percent of the entire population of the State are already snoring with their two eyes tightly closed every night.
The security conscious CP and his men are all out at the wee hours of the day, watching over the entire state.
One thing that will further boost the morale of the CP and his men for optimum performances,in Ondo State is the ability of the entire populace to furnish the Police with relevant information about criminals and other suspects living in their neighbuorhood.
As some of these criminals and night marauders live within our various communities.The office of the Commissioner of Police is ajar for any information dissemination as information givers’
identities are protected.The Police efforts must be complimented by the members of the public all the time. “It must be operation see something and say something”.
Our Commissioner is very tactical ,accurate,smart and precise in dealing with daily dynamics in the security operations of the State.
Let me doff my hat for the CP Adebowale Lawal for the harvest of 208 criminals across the length and breath of the State.
This is a watershed in the anal of history of Ondo State for such a whooping number of criminals to be so far arrested for various offences.
The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force had equally charged 99 suspects to court with 35 convicted already.
The Adekunle Ajasin University suspects have been arrested,those that kidnapped one of the University Lecturers were equally raked and now being investigated.
During the few weeks of the CP in office, vehicles were recovered and handed over to their owners , while suspects were arrested and charged to Court.
All along, twenty five firearms were recovered as a result operation clamp down on criminals in Ondo State due to the ingenuity of the CP. As various cultists were arrested in Ondo City and Akungba Akoko.
The first part of this article cannot be completed without mentioning the menace of some “urban bandits” equally known as Okada Riders.Some of them that are criminals and working with criminal elements were raided and arrested in their various Dens in the State.
In this regard,the efforts of the Ondo State Governor His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa must openly be appreciated for supporting the Police and other Security Agencies in the State.
I will not forget to laud the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun for providing Gunboat and other covert supports,for the Police in Ondo State,the riverine areas of Ondo State is now safe and secured.
