PLANS ARE UNDERWAY BY THE ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT TO RECRUIT MORE VETERINARY DOCTORS INTO THE PUBLIC SERVICE,SAYS DR.AYODEJI BADEJO
The Ondo State Chairman of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association NVMA Prince Dr.Ayodeji Oluwagbemiga Badejo has averred that the Ondo State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is set to employ veterinary doctors into the public service of Ondo State soonest.
For almost two decades,no successive government in Ondo State deemed it fit to recruit veterinary doctors,and presently,we have only eight vet.dictors servicing the entire eighteen local government areas of Ondo State,which is very appauling.But with the intervention of the present Governor, more of our members will soon be employed.
He stated that the job of Veterinary Doctors is very strategic and pivotal to the food security of the masses,this was why the organization vaccinated over two thousand cattle and other ruminants in the State recently apart from Dogs already being vaccinated too.
He disclosed that gone were the days when Vet Doctors lived a life of squalor and abject poverty.Veterinary Doctors are now living a better life,the profession is for the wealthy and opulent in the society.
The highly cerebral and multi-talented very young chairman,disclosed that Vet.Hospitals are now spread across the nooks and crannies of Ondo State,where people can access their services.
He used the occasion to appreciate the elders and leadership of the Association in Ondo State for their unalloyed support towards him, without any regard to his age.As he promised to work relentlessly not to disappoint them.
Meanwhile,the Chairman will on 24th May,2025 be conferred with a prestigious media award at Pharmacy House,beside Government House Grounds, Akure the Ondo State Capital.
