The immediate past President Association of Independent Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, Ondo State Council, Prince Adefemi Ojopagogo has cautioned governorship candidates across Ondo State to shun blackmail, provocative utterances and violence before ,, during and after the governorship election in the State slated for November 16th,2024.
He made the disclosure during the twentieth anniversary of Today’s News Magazine celebrated amidst pomp and thrills yesterday at Parliament Hotel Banquet Hall,Akure .
Prince Adefemi Ojopagogo,who is the Publisher of Today’s News Magazine stated that in the upcoming governorship election,the good people of Ondo State must be fortunate and must be “lucky”in the choice of who govern over them.
A lecture entitled COMBATING INCESSANT ACT OF KIDNAPPING IN NIGERIA was delivered by Dr.Foluso Adetoyinbo from Federal University of Technology,Akure .While some notable Nigerians were honoured, including;the Ondo State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW,Com.Ademola Odudu,CSP Fabiyi Emmanuel the Commander Special Anti Cultism Squad,Ondo State,Her Royal Majesty Princess Folasade Olugboja Oshin the Regent of Ifira-Akoko,Com.Akin Sunday NUP Secretary Ondo State,CEO OMOSOF Communication,Alhaji Falilu Saad Alaro,Sarkin Hausawa Ikare Alhaji Mohammad Jamiu Haladu,Com.Sunday Ajakaiye,Alhaji Garuba Bello,CEO ALASCO ICE CREAM.
Speaking to journalists,Com.Ademola Odudu appreciated the organizers of the event and promised not to relent on his oar at ensuring continued peace among NURTW in Ondo State.He declared that all hands are on the deck with a view to ensuring that Gov.Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa wins the November 16th Governorship election in Ondo State.
Earlier, the Regent of Ifira-Akoko has equally appreciated the organizers of the event and there after dedicated the Award to God and humanity.
Meanwhile,the Asamo of Akure Kingdom High Chief Rotimi Olusanya who is a special guest at the occasion has donated a whooping sum of money in aid of the news organization.He described the newspaper as well known in the area of coverage and dissemination of unbiased news and information about the yearning and aspirations of the people.
Earlier,the Oluomo of Akure Chief Sunday Owoyemi has described the publisher of Today’s News Magazine as a cool headed journalist that has published consistently without fair or favour and promised to support the media outfit handsomely.
