An Ifa deity priest from Federal Republic of Mexico Sahori Gamez Otura Oriko Ifamosun has disclosed that his major desire is to. promote yoruba language , culture. and tradition by ensuring that Yoruba language. is spoken across the world.
The Mexican who is a Yoruba language teacher online made the disclosure while fielding questions from Today’s News Correspondent in Akure recently.
He stated that during the colonization time,some Nigerians and other African Countries were taken on forced slavery to various overseas countries with their culture and tradition,which he stated must not be allowed to face extinction.
“One of our traditions taken abroad was Ifa deity,our traditional culture,language, etc”,he stated.
He declared that the annual Ifa feast in Akure by Chief Famuwagun the Osue of Akue Kingdom is meant to usher in peace and progress of the Kingdom stating that celebrating the Ifa deity is a welcome development.
