GOVERNOR LUCKY ORIMISAN AIYEDATIWA’S SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON NORTHERNERS ONDO CENTRAL TAKES MESSAGE OF PEACE ACROSS THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES OF ONDO STATE
The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Hausa-Arewa Northerners in the Ondo Central Senatorial District Hon.Garuba Goniya has taken the message of peaceful coexistence to the doorstep of the Hausas,Fulanis and other Northerners living in Ondo State,on the need for them to live in peace with their various host communities across the eighteen Local Government Areas of Ondo State.
It will be recalled that recently there were various reports about herders and farmers clashes in some parts of Ondo State where lives were lost
Following the dastard occurrences,the Ondo State Governor summoned the Special Assistant to his office where he gave him matching order to call his people to order especially the marauding herds men.
The governor’s directive prompted the Special Assistant to undergo tour of all the local government areas in Ondo,including towns and villages where the Northerners live to preach the gospel of love,peace and unity among the non indigenes,farmers and other sellers in the various communities visited
During the unscheduled visit,the Special Assistant admonished the Northerners to be extra vigilant because the business of security should not be for the security agencies alone.It is the job of everybody.
“If you see something,say something by contacting the nearest police station.Amotekun and other security agencies in Nigeria.
He begged them to report strange and suspicious individuals to the security agencies or their leaders in the various communities they are residing.
Meanwhile,Hon Garuba Goniya who was accompanied by the S.A to the Governor on Northerners in the Southern part of Ondo State
Hon.Isah and some other Northern leaders have met with all the Sarkins in all parts of Ondo State and charged them not to accommodate miscreants , misguided elements unknown people in their domains and admonished them to work effectively with traditional rulers in their Local Government Areas with a view to preventing any form of clashes between herdsmen,indigenes and non indigenes in their areas.
Meanwhile,as part of security measures put in place is the registration of all cattle rearers either those that are domiciled in the bush or those that take their cattle for grazing everyday and later return to Sango Cattle Market along Ado-Ekiti road in Akure.
Already owners of the cattle have been contacted with a view to submitting their passports with their herdsmen.hand set numbers,home addresses,guarantors.state of Origin as well as other relevant information. with a view to determine a genuine herdsmen and the counterfeits.
Hon.Garuba Goniya stated that
unidentified herdsmen will be handed over to the security agencies including Amotekun and they shall be treated like bandits and kidnappers,he warned.
Ondo State is the most peaceful state in Nigeria,therefore nobody should come here to truncate the peaceful atmosphere being enjoined,he pointed out.
The amiable governor of Ondo State.His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa loves the Northerners too much,hence he gave us three Special Assistants,we must work effectively with our Governor with a view to enhance peaceful coexistence of all and sundry in Ondo State,he posited.
