The Ajagungbade of Ode Community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State,Oba Sunday Adewale Boboye has called on the Inspector General of Police IGP Olatunji Disu to Save His Soul from the office of AIG,ZONE 17,Ondo State over incessant harassment,arrest and unlawful detention for several days by some officers of the AIG ZONE 17.
He made the disclosure while fielding questions from Journalists in his palace earlier penultimate week.
He stated that the allegation of destruction of palm trees or any property,made against him by the Police serving at the AIG ZONE 17 in Akure, the Ondo State Capital was a blatant lie
and falsehood.
The monarch declared that he was not aware of any court case against him adding that,the bench warrant issued against him,came to him as a surprise.
He alleged that the officers at the AIG ZONE 17 Ondo State, bypassed their Deputy Commissioner of Police Dangunduro Ayodeji whose office is handling the case and used the Judiciary against him.
In his words “I sold eight acres of my landed property to one of my clients in Ode Community,and unilaterally the said client decided to add an additional 19 acres which made me adopt legal means to resolve the issues,the case is being addressed in the Court and more often,I am being represented by my lawyer”
” I have never destroyed any palm trees nor do anything inimical to the progress of Ode Community,I am a peace loving traditional ruler”,Oba Sunday Adewale Boboye pointed out.
“To my greatest astonishment,I was invited by the AIG ZONE 17 Ondo State, detained for several days,where I paid a whooping amount of money to secure my bail”, he lamented.
Oba Sunday Adewale Boboye stated that it was one Pastor Adeniyi who deceived him to drop the civil case he instituted against his client that added nineteen acres of land to the original eight acres he earlier purchased from him. The case was being handled by the DCP, before I withdrew it,and instituted a civil case against my client in the Court, surprisingly, the Police later instituted another criminal case against me.
According to the monarch, Pastor Adeniyi has earlier bought a plot of land, from his client that stole another nineteen acres to his original purchase.
He therefore made reference to the year 2020 where some hoodlums came to his palace ,burnt the palace down,killed thee people, razed down several vehicles, though the Police arrested them, but they were released without any punishment for their cruel act and arson.
According to him, the same Police who could not prosecute arsonist in 2020,are now after his life.
Confirming the Monarch’s arrest, during a telephone interview,the DCP stated that he heard about his arrest and detention adding that there was a petition written to the office of the AIG ZONE 17 against Oba Sunday Adewale Boboye which led to his prosecution in the law Court.
“I think,there was a bench warrant of arrest issued against him, because the petition against him is being handled directly by AIG, I don’t have full details of what happened,” the DCP stated.
He however absolved the Officers and Men of the AIG ZONE 17 office of any wrong doing.
